A Year of Celebration
Although 2020 has gotten off to a strange start, one thing is certain. The Memorial Student Center is set to celebrate the hard efforts of it’s current and former students.
This past academic year saw the celebration of the International Student Association’s 50 years of supporting international students. Community and campus administrators came together to support the organization’s efforts to advocate for international students. Now a part of the MSC, ISA was founded as an umbrella organization to the university’s nation clubs. As part of the 50 year celebration, ISA hosted a Global Tailgate and several other events to raise awareness and support of the international population.
MSC Freshman In Service and Hosting, which began in 2009, focuses on servant leadership to develop students and leaders of character. As the celebration date nears for MSC FISH, the committee is hosting a 20th anniversary gala for current and former members.
“I've met a few former MSC FISH members over the past few months,” said Simon Holmes, MSC FISH executive director of outreach. “Every time I meet a former member they always have something so cool to offer about their time and experience as in MSC FISH."
Celebrating 25 years of family values, the MSC Abbott Family Leadership Conference was founded for students to invest in leadership and knowledge beyond the practical. Gathering at the AgriLife Center, current and former MSC Abbott members planted a tree in honor of conference founder, Frank Abbott, Sr.
Whether current or former student, the MSC is dedicated to ensuring its mission and vision of developing global leaders of tomorrow.
